Determined to help promote local artists, Icon Industries is proud to present the release of new prints by two Denver artists, Alejandra DeOlivera and Heidi Scheck. Both artists are friends who work together at a local tattoo shop, and whose work is influenced by their surroundings and their culture. Elements of Mexican folk art holds a strong presence in DeOlivera's paintings, particularly art created for the Dia de los Muertos holiday--a holiday that celebrates death in a much more festive way than most other cultures, and incorporates bright colors as a means of commemorating their lost family and friends. Like DeOlivera, the work of Heidi Scheck also incorporates elements of Mexican culture, but also that of the Art Nouveau movement as well as the illustrative elements found in tattoo art. Together, these artists have created artwork that both inspires and compliments eachother, which is why I have chosen to release these two prints simultaneously.
Each of these gicleé prints are available in an edition of 13 and are printed on Somerset Velvet fine art paper.
